Our Purpose
To encourage organized thought and individual creativity while using sustainable and ethical practices.
Burning Clove derives it’s name from a literary reference, the poem titled “To Earthward” by Robert Frost. In it he speaks of “The sweet of bitter bark and burning clove”. Robert Frost was an avid lover of nature. This poem encompasses the passions of the company founder and the ideals of the company in regards to sustainability and preservation of nature. Burning Clove strives for sustainability in our packaging and pledge to be 100% vegan. We are a female and veteran owned small business.
Burning Clove looks to serve a niche market that encompasses the creative journalists, list makers and artists out there. Most journals consist of pages that use 80lb paper but we know we can do better! 80lb is sufficient for ink and pencil. However, we want to provide a paper quality that will allow the use of different mediums like gouche, watercolor, fine liners, brush markers, india inks and more. This crossover niche is where we want to serve. Journals are our primary product but additionally we plan to offer exclusive stickers, enamel pins, bookmarks, art prints, washi tape, greeting cards, mousepads, memo pads, and more for all your stationary and journaling needs.
